The Church of Adelsö
The church was built in the 12th century when Adelsö was at the height of it's power. During the same century the king Magnus Ladulås built his house right next to the church from where he ruled Sweden.
It's quite easy to find your way t
o the church once you're on Adelsö. Just go to the left at the first t-junction. Then follow the road about 3 km until you see the curch.
If you go out earlier you can stay for a snack or an ice cream at Adelsö Krog right next to teh ferry landing. It not only the top restaurant on the island, it's the only one.
How to get there
To Stockholm: Ryanair flies to Skavsta, 1,5h bus ride from Stockholm. Most other companies fly to Arlanda which is the main airport about 45 min bus ride away.
To Rastaborgs Slott: It is located about 30 km west of the centre of Stockholm see this map, Rastaborg marks the spot. You can take the local bus from Brommaplan but it's easier by car.
To Adelsö: The car ferry that takes you there is free and it is located about 15 km west of Rastaborg. You need a car or a ride with someone to get there conveniently, we can help you set that up.
